Biomedical Sciences (Physiology)

The human body can be regarded as a complicated machine comprising many different systems, which interact to produce the living person. Physiology is the science which studies these systems and seeks to provide a description of their function in health and disease. By studying for a degree in Physiology at Cardiff, you will develop and in-depth understanding of how the body works, from molecule to man, what goes wrong in disease and the strategies that have led to the development of experimental models of human disease. All staff involved in physiology teaching draw upon their expertise and long-standing interests in human physiology and pathophysiology.
