International Pharmacoeconomics and Health Economics (MSc)

Taught in collaboration with the Hochschule Fresenius University (HSF), Idstein, Germany.

Course Aims:

To offer knowledge and expertise in pharmacoeconomics and health economics, via high-level multinational, interdisciplinary and research-oriented education and training.

Course Description:

This new collaborative programme is delivered by international staff at the Hochschule Fresenius University (HSF) in Idstein, Germany, and leads to the award of a Cardiff University MSc Degree. The course is not available for study in Cardiff.

The course extends for four semesters (full-time students) or six semesters (part-time students) and consists of modules to the value of 240 Cardiff University Credits (CATS*), which include a dissertation of 60 CATS credits and healthcare/pharmaceutical industry placement of 60 CATS. Students completing 240 CATS credits will be eligible for a Masters degree.

*240 CATS (Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme) are equivalent to 120 ECTS (European
Credit Transfer and Accumulation System).

Special features:

Entry Requirements: Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or comparable exam from a university or university of applied sciences with the scope of the Framework Act for Higher Education (Hochschulrahmengesetz). The degree must carry the equivalent of 180 ECTS credits and/or a standard period of study of at least three years.

Applicants whose degrees are not directly related to health economics or health sciences must provide proof of at least 6 months relevant practical or theoretical health care experience.
