Sociology and Welsh (BA)
- QL53
3 years (Full-time) / n/a (Part-time) / n/a (Distance / E-Learning)
Sociology at Cardiff addresses society and globalisation through a comparative approach, drawing on both theoretical perspectives and empirical case studies. In conjunction with generic skills, such as those associated with Information & Communications Technology, Sociology is a highly marketable qualification offering entry to a wide range of occupations and postgraduate courses. Sociology is an excellent companion to Welsh, a language experiencing a resurgence within Wales and beyond. The study of Welsh provides students with well-developed linguistic and critical skills, as well as a deep understanding of the language’s literature and culture, A Joint Honours degree is equal in status to a Single Honours degree, although the time spent on each subject is effectively halved.
